El Descanso
A Residential Care Facility for the Elderly
Welcome Home to El Descanso
El Descanso is a worry-free home for your loved one. Our comfortable environment and warm staff create a personal living experience for our residents. Regular activities encourage physical and mental wellness. Located in a clean and quiet neighborhood, with private and common living areas that allow ample space for all, our house has a comfortable layout that feels like home. The care home experience eliminates the obstacles and pressure of living alone. We are licensed to exclusively care for a maximum of 15 residents that are treated like our family with personal care, assistance and support.
Studies have shown that 7 of 10 elderly will require some form of long term care, and so we’re having to witness our most precious ones not move quite like they used to. We’ve tried to be there for them as much as we could, but unfortunately homes aren’t all built for the convenience of the elderly, laws don’t allow them to drive themselves anymore, the natural course of life has taken many of their own decision making abilities away.
However, there’s a silver lining to every cloud. Just because the situation your loved one is in now is not built to help them, it doesn’t mean you can’t find the perfect environment for them elsewhere.
I recognized how difficult it was for children to find a comfortable place that met the needs for their loved ones, a place that gives them opportunities to take back their independence, a place that celebrates life, a place to rest. That’s why 25 years ago, I started El Descanso.

Schedule a Tour
There are different types of care facilities and understanding the differences will help you find which is best for your loved one.
Nothing can replace a personal visit. Unplanned tours give you a look at what a typical day is like. And stopping by around lunchtime affords you the opportunity to share a meal with and talk to residents (and oftentimes other visiting family members).
